Titan Construction Insurance hopes that the Government’s advisory board will stress the need for stimulus within the construction sector. Made up of some of the UK’s most senior business people, the advisors help the Government formulate policy over the year.

Titan understands that this body of influential advisors and opinion formers will try and get the Coalition ministers to talk about growth and recovery, rather than focus on austerity.

Titan has long held the belief that the construction sector needs a plan of stimulation and growth, and not more austerity. And it thinks that until the Coalition begins to fast track major infrastructure projects, the gloom will continue.

What’s needed is more spending on major infrastructure projects, but also spending on schools and other public sector projects. The Government has to find a way to get the sector working again.

Chief Executive Officer of Titan Construction Insurance, Basil Tsapralis, said:
“The sad thing is that the cuts have wreaked havoc upon a sector that cannot just stand still and wait it out. Valuable skills and people are lost, and until ministers realise that action is needed, we risk seeing a great economic driver for the country being put to rest.

“Should the mood music genuinely turn from cuts to growth, the construction sector will be one of the first to benefit.”

Titan Construction Insurance provides a quality service to construction firms throughout the country, believing that competitive pricing and high levels of customer service, is the key to developing long term relationships.

Titan Business Insurance believes that opinion is polarizing between austerity and growth, and that the subsequent indecision which now exists in Government circles, is leading to the worst of all worlds, stagnation and lethargy.

And Titan believes that the Government’s senior business advisors, who are meeting senior ministers this week at Number 10, have a very clear message for the Coalition: act now to generate growth, or leave the country in a vulnerable position.

Senior business leaders believe that austerity can go too far and if left unchecked, will bring the country to its knees, just as not checking spending could have had the same effect.

Chief Executive Officer of Titan Business Insurance, Basil Tsapralis, said:
“If there is one obvious thing about the UK economy, it is that it is a huge super tanker whose course cannot easily be changed. Indeed, the Coalition braked hard when they gained power and the effects of that are only now being really felt. But, at that time, it was important to show the markets that that the country was determined to act responsibly. Now, it’s important to signal growth, as we are now talking maybe a year off, when austerity will have run its course.

“The Government has a tricky balancing act, but it now has to signal growth once again. Leave it too late and the supertanker will plough on into rough waters.”

Titan Business Insurance is one of the UK’s main providers of UK commercial insurance policies. It prides itself on high levels of customer service and competitive prices.

COMPLETE this well-known saying: “As useless as….” Okay, so there may be a few different answers, some probably a bit cruder than others, but let’s not go there.
How, about ‘as useless as an insurance policy that doesn’t pay out when you make a claim’? Right, not very catchy is it?

But the fact is that if you are forking out for insurance, you’ll be wasting your money if it doesn’t deliver when you need it most. A bit like having a chocolate fireguard or an ashtray on a motorbike you might say.

Of course, when an insurance company doesn’t pay out on your claim, you’ll probably have a bit of a grumble about how a big company was swindling the little man. But, often rejected claims can be avoided if you get everything in place properly at the outset.

By heeding our advice, one of our customers managed to save over £14,000. Imagine having to stump up all that cash if something went wrong with your business. In some cases, it might even involve having to let someone go or it could even do irreparable damage to your business.

You can avoid all that heartbreak further down the line by considering the three main reasons insurance companies don’t pay out claims.

It’s often said that honesty is the best policy, however if you manage to find a business insurance plan which includes a free two-week holiday in the Bahamas and a BMW, you’d probably dispute that claim.

Still, being up front with your insurer is essential. One of the most common reasons for insurers not paying out a claim is inaccurate information. Don’t lie or conveniently leave something out when you are sorting out your policy.

It may have been fun to lie about your age when you wanted to get into a nightclub when you were 16, but telling porkies about how old you are could invalidate your policy and give the insurer a classic open goal when it comes to turning down your claim.

Other areas you need to be honest about include the nature of your work and the size of your operation. In the case of life insurance, things like pre-existing medical conditions should not be disguised either.

Supplying your insurer with the correct information from the outset will make it harder for them to turn down your claim.

The second area you need to pay particular attention to is your history. Don’t worry, nobody’s going to want to know if you had a dodgy 80’s haircut or bleached jeans back in the day. Your insurer will simply want to know if you have had claims within a certain period of time. You’re normally asked if you have had any claims within the last five years, so make sure you own up. Claiming on your insurance isn’t usually a regular occurrence, so it should be easy to remember if you have submitted a claim in the last five years. Saying you forgot simply won’t wash – a bit like those blonde highlights.

Finally, getting your sums right is also essential. This is especially relevant when applying for buildings and contents insurance. Make sure the amount you want to insure is enough to cover any potential damage. It can be tempting to insure for a lower sum in an attempt to cut the cost of your premium, but this really is a false economy as it may reduce your settlement payout or even flat out refuse to pay anything.

Taking a little bit of time now can ease the pain of rejection later on. So make sure you get value for money from your insurance by getting it right first time.

Titan Warehouse Insurance is experiencing more enquiries from companies which use warehouses to store data and online digital information.

Titan Warehouse Insurance believes that the humble warehouse has seen many uses since is conception hundreds of years ago and it has now surpassed its original purpose as just a place to store goods until needed.

And Titan believes that the number of warehouses used by technology companies will dramatically increase over the coming years as cloud computing takes off in a massive way.

Chief Executive Officer of Titan Warehouse Insurance, Basil Tsapralis, said:
“Cloud computing is a great concept for the user, but the companies providing the service has to create in effect huge warehouses complete with hundreds of computers and servers. This is where everyone’s data is stored and the warehouses are highly sophisticated and complex centers which have to be secure, and independent.

“And if you couple the growth in cloud computing with pure digital data storage, not forgetting old fashioned paperwork, then the number of warehouses needed to contain such facilities will grow dramatically over the years. And, such places need to have equally secure and complex levels of insurance.

“Consider the value of data for everyone and the possible repercussions should an online cloud provider had its service taken offline, or more seriously, if it lost the data, then the potential claims against them could be huge.”

Titan Warehouse Insurance is a major operator within this field and believes it success is down to very competitive products and high levels of service.

Titan Construction Insurance worries that it was the poor performance of the construction sector which pushed the UK economy into recession over the first quarter of 2012 and says that unless the Government take steps to boost the sector, things will get worse.

Although Titan Construction Insurance recognizes that the initial figures are often upgraded upwards and so might be better in the coming weeks, the dire state of the construction sector could not be disguised.

The slowdown of public sector construction, plus the lack of private sector construction, coupled with reluctance of the Government to stimulate major infra structure projects, makes it almost a perfect storm. And unless the Government takes positive action quickly, the situation could be irreversible says Titan, with vital skill sets, experience and equipment lost.

Chief Executive Officer of Titan Construction Insurance, Basil Tsapralis, said:
“We’ve been saying for years now that the construction sector needs some major action from the Government to keep it viable. What concerns us most is that once the recovery begins in earnest, the UK construction will not have the staff or the infrastructure to be able to switch back on again and that the consequences of this will be a delay in all parts of the recovery.

“Many of the large companies have been forced to look overseas for work and will not be in a position to offer the UK the support it needs, when the money and projects return.”

Titan Construction Insurance offers polices and advice to companies throughout the UK.

Titan Warehouse Insurance believes that the internet boom has led to the continuing rise of the warehouse and insurance policies are having to change to cope with the complexity of their use.

Titan believes that as the internet replaces the high street as the place to shop, the warehouse will be the new feature of the British commercial landscape. As Titan points out, warehouses these days are huge logistical centres which are complex mini towns, controlling goods in and goods out with computerized precision.

This has created a new challenge for the warehouse insurance sector which is being continually asked for complex levels of cover.

Chief Executive Officer of Titan Warehouse Insurance, Basil Tsapralis, said:
“To call such places warehouses is almost a derogatory term these days. Anyone driving along the major roads in the UK will have seen the rise of buildings which are major logistical centres which keep the country fed, clothed and supplied with all manner of retail goods.

“The big supermarket chains began the process by creating distribution centres as key parts of the UK. These are then used to funnel all goods. And where the supermarkets started, now the large internet firms are keeping up the pace, requiring warehouses to be sophisticated logistical centres which fulfill their customer’s requirements.

“As internet shopping continues to expand, so will the need for large warehouses which can provide the fulfillment needs.”

Titan Warehouse Insurance provides simple and complex cover for all warehouses and believes it offers the most competitive prices, alongside high levels of customer service.

Titan Business Insurance believes that the eurozone troubles continue to hold back the chance of meaningful growth in the UK and looks to the continents’ politicians to create a plan which will provide a workable solution.

The recent troubles in Spain, including a re-rating on its debt and a leap in unemployment to 25%, have re-opened wounds about the viability of the euro as a single currency believes Titan.

The eurozone is a constant storm on the horizon of any recovery says Titan and with populations now voting at the ballot box against austerity, the fiscal pressures are going to build.

Chief Executive Officer of Titan Business Insurance, Basil Tsapralis, said:
“A new worrying aspect has crept into the eurozone crisis now, one which might dwarf the situation we’ve lived with for years, but might ironically bring about the closure that we all require. It would appear that the political situation in France and the Netherlands is equating to an almost people’s revolution against austerity as the only solution to Europe’s problems. As one commentator recently put it, austerity is the new ideology and ideologies bring with them their own problems.

“And with new governments being voted in on the premise of no-austerity packages, the new leaders in Europe are going to have to re-negotiate their relationship with the financial markets.”

Titan Business Insurance offers plans and policies for a wide range of industries and commercial activities. The company is known for its competitive pricing and high levels of customer service and advice.

It’s not quite as cheap as chips, but many fish and chip shop owners find they get served up tasty deals on their insurance.

When you consider the amount of risks and hazards involved, it may come as a surprise to find that Fish and Chip Shop Insurance is so competitively priced.

How do they do it? Well, for some in the know, it’s all amount keeping your house (or should that be shop) in order.

With 25 years in the business, we have picked up a few handy tips for keeping down the price of Fish and Chip Shop Insurance and many involve keeping the place safe, clean and tidy.

We’re not talking about a quick spring clean whenever it comes time to renew your policy.

Keeping your hungry customers happy is essential if you run a chippy. Serving up the best grub will make them come back for more and to do this, you’ll need your cooking equipment to be clean and in good working order.

That’s something which will also whet the appetite of insurance companies as they love to see ranges and equipment which is well maintained. Grease traps and ducts should be cleaned out regularly and you may find an insurer is willing to slice off a few extra quid for a clean and tidy kitchen.

Of course, insurers also relish safety and, in a hot and heavy environment such as a chippy, there are always fire hazards. That’s why, having all your fire fighting equipment such as extinguishers and fire blankets will tick a couple of more boxes for the insurance company.

Not only will this save you money on your insurance, failure to have all your equipment and safety measures up to scratch could see your insurer reject any future claims.

Taking pride in your business not only increases trade, it can also cut down on insurance costs.

Healthy profits will only come if you make sure your shop is up-to-speed with health and safety guidelines. Keeping yourself right on this front shows insurers that you are serious about looking after your business.

Of course, insurance companies will want to know that you are operating in an environment where risk is kept to a minimum, so having high standards of health and safety should be a priority.

Should you fail to meet basic hygiene standard and say, for example, one of your customers suffers food poisoning, this could make an insurer think twice about giving you a competitive rate on public liability cover.

Similarly, a dangerous workplace may make it tricky for you to secure a good deal on Employers Liability cover.

Safety isn’t confined to the inside of the shop though. Taking the proper precautions with your shop front can also pay dividends when it comes to fish and chip shop insurance. Of course, there’s no point forking out for things like alarms and locks on your shutters if you don’t let your insurer know you have them.

Always provide your insurance company with as much detail as possible on what security measures you have taken.

If your business premises also doubles up as your residence, there may be more savings to be had. Let your insurance company know if you live above the fish and chip shop or even beside it. You may qualify for discount or be able to tie up your home and business insurance into one policy.

Contact us for your fish and chip shop insurance needs and you’ll quickly realise that there’s plenty on the menu.

Titan Engineers Insurance says that the engineering industry remains tough and that even the renewables sector is having a hard time especially after Government Ministers appear to be sending conflicting messages about wind energy.

One major engineering company which has announced that it would base its wind turbine business in Scotland has since announced that it will be scrapping plans to develop a major business in the country. It has been hoped that the company would create a major multi-million pound base specialising in wind renewables. This would have created 700 jobs and brought much needed money into the local economy.

The company has cited the general poor economic conditions and liquidity issues as the reason it pulled the plug. But indecision over the very future of wind turbines cannot have helped believes Titan.

Chief Executive Officer of Titan Engineers Insurance, Basil Tsapralis, said:
“It’s not good news that a major engineering company in the renewables sector is announcing a withdraw in its Scottish wind turbine business. Given that energy issues are key to the Government’s future, it’s sad to see that one industry which should be a growth area, being itself knocked back by a complex set of factors.

“The UK’s engineering companies are some of the best in the world and they need support to get them through to better times.”

Titan Engineers Insurance is one of the largest brokers in the industry. It believes that competitive pricing and high levels of customer success has provided it with a sound reputation for delivering polices and cover that is both cost effective and appropriate.

Titan Business Insurance believes that although sentiment is recovering within the minds of business owners and senior management, we remain at the cross roads between retraction and growth.

Titan Business Insurance thinks that the business climate is improving, gradually, but also believes that we are balanced between meaningful recovery and a period of stagnation.

Titan says that the biggest problem is trying to avoid a period in which things get no worse, but equally, get no better either.

And Titan calls on the Government to remain vigilant to the country falling into a state which Japan experienced after their own recession decades ago. Some stimulation and forward thinking is now required.

Chief Executive Officer of Titan Business Insurance, Basil Tsapralis, said:
“Stagnation could be the greatest danger we currently face. The danger is that we get stuck in a kind of limbo land in which we see very little growth and no prospect of meaningful growth. Japan has suffered the same problem for many decades and we need to plan for putting the economy back into real growth mode.

“It has that horrible feeling at the moment that we remain on the edge of the abyss and we need to walk away from there and move on. And we believe that the Government can take the initiative here and do much to boost business not only for blue-chips, but also for the SMEs.”

Titan Business Insurance represents businesses, especially SMEs, throughout the UK. It has built its reputation on both competitive pricing and high standards of service.
